Supporting individuals emotionally at the moment of crisis is in fact the resource that can be incredibly helpful- hopefully even life changing. But how about when we need someone to talk or simply in need of comfort? What if you do not have someone to turn to for care or for an encouraging word when needed. Study show that "in 2019, among EU countries Portugal (12.2 per cent) had the highest share of the population reporting chronic depression". Source: OECD
We are,therefore, a "Warmline" service (vs "Hotline"which traditionally is used as an emergency contact) and that is to offer a listening ear, relating on a human to human level compassionately.
