Roots of a long life

For years, I saw trees only as silent giants that die standing. But I soon realized they are remarkable beings, thriving for centuries against immense odds. How? Trees feel pain, store memories, and live in communities. They share nutrients with their young, even nourish competitors, and face harsh climates together. Like us, humans, trees rely on cooperation. Without their interconnected support network, many wouldn't survive. Each tree's well-being is vital to the life of the whole forest. This interdependence is key to their survival and longevity.
