Family Heartache
12/12/2021
Estrangement from your own child/children, from a mother's perspective, is a powerful and truly painful phenomenon which is not as uncommon as it should be. The tearful mothers talk about the cruelty of the situation and the burden of this emotionally distant relationship has on them describing profund feelings of loss, shame and regret.
The family break-ups although not unusual, the mother/ grown up child raises questions about its 'impact on both individuals and society'.
The good news is that estrangement, though difficult, may not be permanent. It can be restored if the prior relationship was relatively attentive.
