Exposing Vulnerability

Opening up emotionally to others is a sign of weakness in many societies. That's even true in many progressive ones. So I have been asking myself if emotionally supporting a gentleman was the same as supporting women in crisis. There's a huge difference. When women are in crisis we manage to reach to our closest friends who might give us an ear no matter how elementar, or imperfect the interaction. When men are in crisis they generally close up and suffer in silence, rarely reaching out for fear of exposing vulnerability.

And that is where the problem lies. We all have the same needs. The emotional support is an essential ingredient in a happy life, so it's time to give men the care and attention they deserve.
