Experience in Crisis

I went through a major hurricane in Charleston, South Carolina in 1989.
I remember how that crisis made values clearer, separating the unimportant things from the important. We were without electricity for two weeks. We went to bed at dusk. There was no internet then. We could go outside and mingle freely, but roads were blocked by fallen trees and downed electrical lines. The trees in most cases fell just right, neatly between houses missing each by inches as if the trees sacrificed themselves to save the people. I worry terribly for my family and friends, but can only do what I can do to check in with them and to take care of myself
