When life throws its hardest challenges your way, how do you respond— as an optimist, a realist, or something else entirely? There's a constant tug-of-war between acceptance and hope when the unexpected strikes. From the countless patients I've spoken to, I've seen remarkable strength, faith, and acceptance in the face of the unthinkable.
Yet, there's one thing that always brings them to their knees: their children's future. For most of us, we can confront harsh truths with realism, sprinkled with a glimmer of hope. But when it comes to the well-being of our kids, that's where our deepest fears and tensions lie.
